Milwaukee County Zoo introduces Filly, a jaguar rescued from Belize and in quarantine.
The Milwaukee County Zoo has welcomed Filly, a 6-7 year old jaguar from the Belize Zoo. She was rescued in 2019 due to preying on livestock, a common issue for older, injured, or sick jaguars. Filly's transfer took four-and-a-half years due to the collaboration between the two zoos, which have had a conservation partnership since the 1980s. She is currently in quarantine and will be introduced to the public later.
