The Indian government has launched the Mutual Credit Guarantee Scheme (MCGS-MSME) to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by providing collateral-free loans up to ₹100 crore.
The scheme, backed by a 60% guarantee from the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company, aims to boost manufacturing by offering loans for equipment purchases with flexible repayment terms, including an 8-year repayment period with a 2-year moratorium on principal for loans up to ₹50 crore.
The scheme will be available for 4 years or until a cumulative guarantee of ₹7 lakh crore is issued.
