Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako plan their first visit to Mongolia as reigning monarchs in July.
Japan's Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako plan to visit Mongolia in early July, marking their first trip to the country as reigning monarchs. This will be their third overseas goodwill visit since Emperor Naruhito's 2019 ascension, following trips to Indonesia and Britain. The visit coincides with Mongolia's Naadam festival and may include a tribute at a monument for Japanese interned after WWII. Emperor Naruhito previously visited Mongolia in 2007 as the Crown Prince.
