Coast Guard rescues two men from sinking sailboat 103 miles off Wilmington.
The US Coast Guard rescued two men from a sinking 32-foot sailboat, Walrus, 103 miles east of Wilmington on January 28.
After the boat began to flood, the men used their VHF-DSC Distress Alert and a satellite emergency device to call for help.
A C-130 airplane and MH-60 helicopter were dispatched; despite efforts to dewater the vessel, the men were airlifted to safety.
Both were in stable condition with no injuries.
