The Bombay High Court has upheld a ban on Plaster of Paris (PoP) idols for the upcoming Ganesh Maghi festival in Maharashtra, due to environmental concerns. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) had previously banned PoP idols, citing pollution caused by their immersion. The court directed local authorities to enforce this ban and will hear further submissions from idol makers in March.
