Oregon launches online toolkit to help families protect personal data under new privacy laws.

The Oregon Department of Justice has launched an online toolkit to help families understand and protect their personal data under the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (OCPA). The OCPA, effective since July 2021, gives individuals control over their personal information like addresses and health data. The toolkit includes resources on monitoring and restricting the collection of children's data, a top concern for Oregonians. Since its implementation, the DOJ has received 118 privacy complaints. Starting July 1, non-profit organizations will also be subject to the OCPA.
