FDA raises recall to highest level for Walmart broccoli linked to potential listeria risk.

The FDA has escalated the recall of Marketside Broccoli Florets sold at Walmart stores across 20 states to the highest risk level, Class I, due to potential listeria contamination. Although the products are past their "best if used by" date and no longer in stores, consumers are advised to discard any in their freezers as listeria can cause severe infections, especially in vulnerable groups like newborns, the elderly, and pregnant women. Symptoms include fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, and in severe cases, confusion and convulsions.
