Alabama authorities responded to hundreds of crashes and calls during a severe winter storm.

During a winter storm from January 21 to 23, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) responded to 216 weather-related crashes and 712 assistance calls in central and southern Alabama. A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 resulted in one death and two injuries. ALEA's Director, Col. Jonathan Archer, urged drivers to prioritize safety by reducing speed and exercising caution during adverse weather.
