UK renames Navy submarine from HMS Agincourt to HMS Achilles to avoid offending France.

The UK's Royal Navy has renamed its new Astute-class submarine, initially named HMS Agincourt after a 1415 English victory over the French, to HMS Achilles to avoid offending France. Former Defence Secretary Grant Shapps criticized the decision, calling it "woke nonsense" that undermines military tradition, while others argued the French would not have been offended. The name change was approved by King Charles III and the Royal Navy Ships Names and Badging committee.
