Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te called for unity between his ruling party and the opposition amid a budget dispute where the opposition cut the proposed budget by T$207.6 billion. In his Lunar New Year message, Lai thanked citizens for their hard work and promised to promote economic growth and national security. He also announced a new initiative to help young Taiwanese engage in global exchanges.
