SriLankan Airlines is set to return three grounded aircraft to service by April, according to Minister Bimal Ratnayake. The aircraft were grounded due to a lack of engines. The airline previously paid $9 million monthly for three years in lease fees for these planes. Ratnayake announced plans to develop the airline and reported a 2023/2024 profit of over Rs. 3 billion, partly due to currency appreciation.
