In 2024, Romania's voluntary private pension funds saw a record 133,000 new participants, a 40% rise from the prior year, bringing the total to nearly 833,000 participants. These Pillar III funds attracted 752 million lei in contributions, a 25% increase, and managed over 5.5 billion lei in net assets, up 17%. Since 2007, these funds have provided an average annual return of 6%, with participants earning net profits of 1.45 billion lei.
