Romanian National Liberal Party chooses Crin Antonescu as their presidential candidate.
The National Liberal Party (PNL) in Romania has unanimously chosen Crin Antonescu as their candidate for the upcoming presidential elections on May 4 and 18. Antonescu, a former PNL president, received backing from all 664 delegates at the National Council meeting. The coalition of PNL, Social Democrats, and Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania aims to support a single candidate to prevent vote splitting. However, the candidacy still needs final approval at a congress on February 2nd.
