Oxford plans 200% council tax hike on second homes; Norfolk councils to gain £2.89m with similar measure.

Oxford City Council plans to increase council tax by 200% for second homes starting April, aiming to make the city fairer and generate revenue. Meanwhile, Norfolk councils will receive £2.89m from a new 100% council tax premium on second homes, to be used for affordable housing and homelessness services. West Norfolk Council expects to gain around £950,000 extra, while North Norfolk anticipates £1.7 million, to support local services.
