Mervyn Street, a 77-year-old Indigenous artist from Western Australia, is opening his first major gallery exhibition titled "Stolen Wages" as part of the Perth Festival's Boorloo Contemporary program. The exhibition features Street's paintings of life in the Kimberley region and highlights his role in recovering withheld wages for Aboriginal workers. The festival includes a nose-to-tail feast showcasing Kimberley cuisine and projections at the East Perth Power Station by Noongar artists, aiming to celebrate Indigenous talent and change perceptions of Western Australia.
