Brazilian actress Fernanda Torres, nominated for an Oscar for her role in "I'm Still Here," has apologized for an old TV sketch where she wore blackface. The sketch, from 17 years ago, resurfaced recently, prompting Torres to express regret and acknowledge that the awareness of the racist symbolism of blackface was not as widespread in Brazil at the time. She pledged to be more aware of such issues moving forward.
