Zambia launched a $340 million phosphate plant in Chilanga district, a joint venture between China's Sino Great Group and Zambia's Wonderful Group. The plant will produce phosphoric acid, gypsum, and ammonium phosphate, aiming to reduce reliance on imported fertilizers. It will provide 2,000 jobs during construction and 1,600 direct jobs upon completion, potentially lowering fertilizer costs in Zambia.
