A 16th to 17th-century Hebrew Psalms book, discovered in the Museum of the Bible, was found to be the oldest known Hebrew book, dating back to at least the 9th century. Initially thought to be part of the Cairo Geniza, it is from Afghanistan. Found in 1998 by a British historian, the museum faced challenges verifying its ownership, complicating negotiations with the Afghan Jewish community and government.
