New EHT study reveals M87* black hole's ring shifted, confirming models on galaxy formation.

The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) Collaboration has released new findings about the supermassive black hole M87* at the center of galaxy M87, using data from 2017 and 2018. The study shows that the brightest part of the ring around the black hole has shifted by 30 degrees, suggesting that the outermost ring of plasma swirls in the opposite direction of the black hole's spin. This confirms existing models and deepens our understanding of how galaxies form and evolve.
