Mexican drug lord "Chapito Leal" extradited to the U.S., faces drug trafficking charges, pleads not guilty.

Octavio Leal-Hernandez, an alleged leader of the Sinaloa Cartel known as "Chapito Leal," has been extradited to the U.S. and appeared in federal court. He faces charges for drug trafficking conspiracy and pleaded not guilty. Authorities suspect him of smuggling large quantities of illegal drugs into the U.S. from Mexico. He will remain in custody pending his next court appearance on March 10, 2025.
