Full "snow moon" coincides with Lunar New Year on Feb. 12 in Vancouver, with rare planetary alignment.

The full "snow moon" will be visible in Vancouver on February 12 at 5:53 a.m., coinciding with Lunar New Year celebrations. Named for February's typical heavy snowfall, this event also marks new beginnings in Asian cultures. Skywatchers can also observe a rare planetary alignment of Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, under mostly clear weather conditions expected through the end of January.
