Fifteen-year-old transgender teen Willa took their own life on Nov. 30; community event to honor them planned.

Fifteen-year-old transgender teen Willa took their own life on November 30 by stepping in front of a train in Kingston. Willa had a history of depression and suicidal thoughts, and despite their parents' suicide prevention training, they did not foresee Willa's actions. The BGC South East Club is honoring Willa with an event called "Willamette's Way!" on February 1 to celebrate their life and raise awareness about mental health issues.
