The New York Islanders signed defenseman Tony DeAngelo, aiming to boost their struggling defense.

The New York Islanders signed defenseman Tony DeAngelo to a one-year contract for the rest of the 2024-25 season. DeAngelo, 29, has not played in the NHL this year but had a strong season with the KHL's St. Petersburg SKA, scoring six goals and 26 assists in 34 games. The Islanders, currently last in the Metropolitan Division, hope DeAngelo will boost their defense. He has a career total of 48 goals and 162 assists in 371 NHL games.
