Researchers at UC San Francisco found that a new method of slowly introducing buprenorphine to treat fentanyl addiction was less effective than hoped. In a study with 126 participants, only 34% were able to reach a full dose of buprenorphine. This treatment, known as low-dose initiation, aimed to ease the transition off fentanyl but fell short, highlighting the need for better treatment options.
