India cuts spoofed international calls by 90%, blocking over 13.5 million calls in 24 hours.

The Indian government has significantly cut down spoofed international calls by implementing a new system, reducing them to about 400,000 daily. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has instructed telecom providers to block over 20 foreign carriers and display "International Calls" on incoming foreign calls. The Sanchar Saathi App allows citizens to report fraudulent calls directly. The system has blocked 90% of spoofed calls, amounting to over 13.5 million in just 24 hours.
