Cuban woman pleads guilty to smuggling that led to 16 migrant deaths, faces up to life in prison.

A 26-year-old Cuban woman, Yaquelin Dominguez-Nieves, pleaded guilty in Miami to conspiring to smuggle people into the U.S., an operation that led to the deaths of 16 migrants, including children, when their vessel sank off the coast of Cuba. Dominguez-Nieves collected $11,500 from migrants' families in Florida and arranged for the trip. She faces up to life in prison and a mandatory minimum of five years, with sentencing set for April 11.
