Two Tucson men from Somalia sentenced to over a decade in prison for plotting to join ISIS.

Two Tucson men, Ahmed Mahad Mohamed, 27, and Abdi Yemeni Hussein, 26, both from Somalia, were sentenced for conspiring to join ISIS. Mohamed got 132 months, and Hussein 96 months in prison, followed by lifetime supervised release. They planned to travel to Egypt to fight for ISIS but were arrested in July 2019 at the Tucson Airport. Mohamed also tried to recruit others online and planned to travel to ISIS territory.
