New Zealand investigates acting judge for disrupting political event, yelling at leader.
New Zealand Attorney-General has requested an investigation into acting District Court Judge Ema Aitken after she allegedly disrupted a New Zealand First function in November. The Judicial Conduct Commissioner recommended setting up a panel to investigate her conduct, which included yelling at party leader Winston Peters. Judge Aitken has since apologized for her behavior. The Justice Minister will consider the recommendation, taking on the role of Attorney-General to avoid any conflict of interest.
