Man sues Florida county and deputies after taser ignition causes severe burns at gas station.
Jean Louis Barreto-Baerga is suing Osceola County and six deputies after a 2022 incident where a taser ignited a fire at a gas station, severely burning 75% of his body. Barreto-Baerga claims deputies were pursuing him on a dirtbike and tased him in a pool of gasoline. Despite Deputy David Crawford being acquitted of negligence, Barreto-Baerga seeks over $7 million in medical expenses and alleges the sheriff's office promoted excessive force.
