A 65-year-old Lithuanian kayaker was trapped between rocks in Tasmania's Franklin River for nearly a day in late 2024, leading to the amputation of his leg. Rescuers worked for 20 hours before making the difficult decision. After two months in the Royal Hobart Hospital, he is set to return home.
