China's local governments issued new bonds worth 4.72 trillion yuan (about $658.25 billion) in 2024, with special bonds accounting for 4.02 trillion yuan and general bonds for 700.5 billion yuan. The average bond term was 14.4 years with an interest rate of 2.29%. By year-end, outstanding local government debts reached 47.54 trillion yuan.
