China's central bank increased its gold reserves by 44.17 tonnes in 2024, reaching a record high of 2,279.57 tonnes, ranking it sixth globally. China's gold production rose 0.56% to 377.24 tonnes, while consumption dropped 9.58% to 985.31 tonnes. Gold production from imported materials and overseas mines also saw increases.
