Wildfire forces partial evacuation of LA's Pitchess Detention Center, displacing nearly 500 inmates.

A fast-moving wildfire, the Hughes Fire, has led to the partial evacuation of the Pitchess Detention Center in Los Angeles, housing nearly 5,000 inmates. Over 50,000 people, including nearly 500 inmates, have been evacuated as the fire has burned nearly 9,300 acres and is 0% contained. Authorities moved inmates to another facility on the jail's campus, and more could be relocated if conditions worsen. The California National Guard has deployed firefighting aircraft to assist in battling the fire.
