Welsh misbehaving politicians could face voter recall votes if a new law is passed.

Welsh politicians who break conduct rules could face recall votes, allowing local voters to decide if they should be replaced by another party member. This new system, if passed, would give voters one day to decide on a misbehaving Senedd member’s future. Unlike current penalties that only allow for suspension, this recall ballot would need to be approved by law before the 2026 election.
