Sydney sailors Rupert Henry and Greg O'Shea won the inaugural Australian Ocean Racing Championship.
Sydney-based sailors Rupert Henry and Greg O'Shea won the first-ever Australian Ocean Racing Championship (AORC) aboard their yacht Mistral. The championship includes 20 major ocean races across Australia and was created by yachtsman Tony Ellis to promote diverse race courses and competition. Over 196 boats participated in the inaugural year, which featured a close race with the winners finishing just 15.4 points ahead of the second-place team.
