Stellantis plans to produce a new mid-sized Ram Dakota pickup, rehiring 1,500 at an Illinois plant.
Stellantis, the parent company of Ram, has confirmed plans to produce a mid-sized pickup truck called the Ram Dakota, set to compete with the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux.
The vehicle will be built at the Belvidere factory in Illinois, rehiring around 1,500 employees, and is expected to go into production in 2027.
This will be the first mid-sized Ram since the Dakota ceased production in 2011.
