Netflix raises U.S. prices, reports record revenue, and plans investments in live sports.

Netflix plans to raise prices on most of its subscription tiers in the US, Canada, Portugal, and Argentina. The standard plan without ads will increase from $15.49 to $17.99 per month, while the ad-supported tier will rise from $6.99 to $7.99. The company reported adding 19 million new subscribers in Q4 2024, reaching a total of 302 million subscribers globally. Revenue jumped 16% to over $10 billion for the first time in a single quarter. Netflix also announced it will invest in live events and programming, including the 2027 and 2031 FIFA Women's World Cups.
