Man arrested at Capitol for carrying unregistered gun; security lapses prompt protocol review.
A 27-year-old Massachusetts man, James Faber, was found with an unregistered 9mm handgun after a Capitol tour on Jan. 21. Faber, who had expressed suicidal thoughts, was arrested on charges including carrying an unlicensed pistol and resisting arrest. Security failed to detect the weapon despite metal detectors and a pat-down. The officer involved was suspended, and Capitol Police are reviewing their security protocols.
