Malaysia pledges to cut emissions and fight climate change despite U.S. withdrawal from Paris Agreement.

Malaysia's environment minister stated that despite the U.S. leaving the Paris Agreement, Malaysia will continue fighting climate change. The country aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. As ASEAN Chair for 2025, Malaysia will promote regional cooperation on climate issues, maintaining diplomatic ties with the U.S. and other international partners.
