Lockheed Martin gets $270M to equip F-22 Raptors with advanced threat-detection sensors.

Lockheed Martin received a $270 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to integrate advanced infrared sensors, called the Infrared Defensive System (IRDS), onto the F-22 Raptor. These TacIRST sensors will improve the aircraft's ability to detect and counter threats, enhancing both survivability and combat effectiveness. The upgrade is part of an ongoing effort to maintain U.S. air superiority against modern threats.
