El Paso's City Council approved the construction of a new Advanced Manufacturing District at the El Paso International Airport, aimed at creating a hub for manufacturing, aerospace, and defense industries.
Phase one includes building a 50,000-square-foot stand-alone building and two 100,000-square-foot multi-tenant buildings.
The project, launched with a $40 million Economic Development Administration award, aims to launch 300 new small and medium manufacturers, creating 17,000 jobs by 2030.
