Daughter of Indian leader Subhas Chandra Bose urges India to retrieve his ashes from Japan.

Anita Bose Pfaff, daughter of Indian independence leader Subhas Chandra Bose, has urged the Indian government to bring her father's ashes back from Japan, where they have been kept for almost eight decades. Despite conclusive evidence that Bose died in a 1945 plane crash, his ashes remain at Renkoji Temple in Tokyo. Pfaff's request comes on her father’s 128th birth anniversary, known as Parakram Diwas, amidst claims that the temple is willing to cooperate with DNA testing to confirm the remains.
