Australia allocates $2B to boost clean energy, aiming to unlock $6B in private investment.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced an additional AUD 2 billion for the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC), aimed at boosting clean energy projects and potentially unlocking AUD 6 billion in private investment. Since its founding in 2012, the CEFC has invested nearly AUD 18 billion, supporting over 4,000 jobs and saving 160 million tonnes of emissions. This move contrasts with the opposition's nuclear energy plan, criticized as more expensive than renewable options.
