Philadelphia introduces "Wellness Court" to offer treatment over arrest for drug crimes.

Philadelphia has launched a "Wellness Court" in the Kensington area to help people with drug addiction. Instead of arresting them for low-level drug crimes, police can issue tickets and offer immediate access to treatment. Those who complete a treatment program can have their citation expunged. The court operates on Wednesdays as part of Mayor Cherelle Parker's efforts to combat substance abuse and improve community life.
