Over 40,000 Nigerian opposition party members defected to the ruling APC in Katsina State.

Over 40,000 members of various opposition parties have joined Nigeria's ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State. Governor Dikko Umaru Radda welcomed the defectors, which include former Deputy Speakers and other notable figures, promising inclusive leadership. The defectors cited internal conflicts in opposition parties and Governor Radda's electoral victory in 2023 as reasons for their switch.
