EnQuest buys Harbour Energy's Vietnam operations for $84M, expanding beyond higher-taxed UK market.

British energy firm EnQuest is acquiring Harbour Energy's operations in Vietnam for $84 million, including debt, to expand beyond the UK market due to higher taxes. The deal, set to close in the second quarter of 2025, gives EnQuest a 53.125% stake in the Chim Sao and Dua oil fields. EnQuest's CEO, Amjad Bseisu, highlighted disappointment with UK taxes and emphasized the company's focus on growth in Southeast Asia.
