Family seeks answers at inquest into Spanish receptionist's death by mentally ill man at Travelodge.
The family of 27-year-old Spanish receptionist Marta Elena Vento is seeking answers at an inquest into her brutal death at a Bournemouth Travelodge. Vento was killed by Stephen Cole, 32, who had a history of violence and was suffering from a psychotic episode due to a lack of antipsychotic medication. Cole, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter through diminished responsibility, has been detained indefinitely in a hospital. The inquest, which begins today and will last up to six weeks, will explore if the attack could have been prevented.
