Nigerian accountant sentenced for diverting over $145,000 in public funds through fraud.

An accountant at a university hospital in Sokoto, Nigeria, was convicted of diverting over N60 million ($145,000) in public funds. Lukumanu Sani Waziri altered financial records and transferred funds into private accounts using the government financial system. He was sentenced to multiple terms of imprisonment or fines on seven of nine charges of fraud and corruption.
