Irish retailers selling tobacco and vapes face new annual licensing fees, starting February 2026.

Starting February 2, 2026, Irish retailers selling tobacco and vape products will need annual licenses, costing up to €1,000 for tobacco and €800 for vapes. The Health Minister introduced the licensing system under the Public Health Act 2023 to discourage sales and promote a tobacco-free Ireland. Retailers have had 13 months to prepare for the new regulations.
