Iranian singer Tataloo sentenced to death for blasphemy after being extradited from Turkey.

Iranian pop singer Amir Hossein Maghsoudloo, known as Tataloo, has been sentenced to death on appeal after being convicted of blasphemy for insulting Islam's Prophet Mohammed. The 37-year-old, previously sentenced to five years in jail, now faces additional charges including promoting "prostitution" and disseminating "propaganda" against the Islamic Republic. Tataloo, who was living in Istanbul, was handed over to Iran by Turkish authorities in December 2023. The verdict is not final and can still be appealed.
